Fashion Foundry

Supporting Scotland's fashion and accessories designers

Supporting fashion and accessories designers based in Scotland.

Fashion Foundry supports fashion and accessories designers based in Scotland through workshops, mentoring, networking, access to sampling facilities, online resources & free advice sessions to emerging designers, changing gear businesses and the wider fashion community.

Emerging Designer

Fashion Foundry supports emerging fashion designers based in Scotland who are pre-start or start-up stage. They are given free studio space in Glasgow which has sampling and small batch production facilities.

Each designer is paired with a mentor chosen to help their specific sector and given a tailored programme of support allowing them time, space and industry expertise to develop their brand. 

Topics such as branding, costing, planning, social media, IP, exporting & making the most of trade shows are covered throughout the year.

Changing Gear

Fashion Foundry's Changing Gear is for established Fashion or Fashion accessories designers registered in Scotland who would benefit from the support of 1:1 mentoring sessions with industry experts.

2017.2018 Changing Gear Designers are Dundee based Isolated Heroes and Orkney Based Hilary Grant.

Over the course of a year, the brands will be given three 1:1 mentoring sessions by a selection of experts from the team at either Johnstons of Elgin or Alex Begg who will help identify and offer solutions to issues restricting their business growth. Both Mentors design & manufacture in Scotland and sell internationally to high-end boutiques and department stores.
