Carol Sinclair and Helen Voce recommend five networks to refer to:

1. Craft Scotland

The home of Scottish craft, showcasing and promoting Scottish craft nationally and internationally. Their website features listings and directories, plus a wealth of opportunities, many being offered by Craft Scotland and open to all to apply. Makers can have a free page on their website to promote their own work and are welcome to attend their annual conference.

2. Applied Arts Scotland (AAS)

A membership organisation run 'by makers for makers', offering professional development and networking opportunities to craftspeople and makers based in Scotland. They provide online and offline opportunities to get together.

3. Scottish Artists Union (SAU)

The trade union representing the interests of applied as well as visual artists. They lobby for policies to support professional artists such as rates of pay and resale rights. A notable benefit of the affordable annual membership is the free public liability insurance, however there is much more besides.
