With more than 3,000 members worldwide, FAI’s annual conference – currently based in Kansas City – is one of the five largest music conferences in North America. Members of FAI include individuals, organisations and businesses. The conference draws over 2,500 artists, presenters, agents, managers, music support services reps, manufacturers, record companies, publishers, radio DJs, funders and other representatives in the folk music field.
UNESCO City of Music Glasgow hosts Celtic Connections annually in January. It is the UK's premier celebration of Celtic music and its connections to cultures across the globe. 2000+ international musicians feature in more than 300 events across folk, roots and world music. Collaboration is a big feature of the programme and is carried through into the late-night Festival Club. The programme includes talks and workshops.
