Sandy Thomson

Biography

Sandy has worked in the theatre industry across the UK for 20 years. Trained at RADA, as Artistic Director for groundbreaking site-specific theatre company Poorboy, Sandy has written and directed shows performed in train stations, office blocks, churches and streets; staged car chases and manhunts across Glasgow, sea voyages in Dundee and fashion parades in St Andrews. Her work has received various nominations for critical awards in Scotland.

Her mentoring and support work includes posts at RSAMD and QMU and she has worked extensively in arts specialist, arts administration and cultural facilitation roles with Local Authorities across the country.

Sandy has been closely involved with visual arts in the North East for more than a decade; incorporating the work of visual artists – from Will Maclean to students of Duncan of Jordanstone, College of Art – into her own theatre works.

Sandy is Premier Adviser accredited and a qualified RD1st coach.
