Calling New Glasgow Creatives for Design Your Practice

| All

A freelance career is becoming a common prospect for new creative graduates as the labour market becomes more fluid. You need certain skills to proactively seek out opportunities to develop and sustain your practice. You also need an entrepreneurial and business approach to make sure you manage aspects of your self-employment effectively.

Our new eight week evening programme Design Your Practice, will help creative freelancers to establish their practice and proactively take control of their future. A foundation of business understanding in recent graduates allows the journey to sustainable practice happen quicker. The programme will add a professional toolbox to ensure that in the future a freelance practice can be developed into a significant business and that you have the foundation to do so.

Topics covered in the programme:

  • Costing and pricing your work
  • Marketing your services
  • Planning and Business Structures
  • Finance and Administration

To ensure the programme is sustainable and repeatable, there will be an introductory charge of £100 per participant to cover costs.m Commencing on Monday 15 May in Glasgow initially, we then plan to roll it out across Scotland.

We believe this programme will help you earn more, focus your skills and talent, avoid costly mistakes, manage your time and energy and provide a grounding in business to let your creative practice flourish. And you can set it against your tax bill!

Are you a Glasgow based creative who would benefit from this? Express an interest by Friday 31 March by contacting our Head of Programmes David Smith by email with the subject line 'Design Your Practice.'
