Alan Eccles

Social Enterprise 

Alan Eccles is a lawyer working primarily to assist charities, third sector bodies and social enterprises. A partner with Brodies LLP based in Glasgow, he works across Scotland with organisations that have reach locally, nationally and across the globe. The aim of Alan’s work being to use the law and governance to help achieve aims and objectives. As well as advising individuals and organisations in the creative and cultural sectors, Alan has direct sector experience through being a director of Cryptic and the Scottish Universities law Institute.

Alan also lectures in charities and trusts at the University of Strathclyde and provides free access to updates and developments in charities, third sector and social enterprise through Twitter.

Philip Hannay

Legal

Philip Hannay is managing director of Cloch Solicitors Limited – an award-winning boutique law firm specialising in business law and intellectual property, and is well-known for assisting entrepreneurs in generating money from ideas and technology.

Philip teaches law modules at two major universities in Glasgow. He is council member of The Royal Faculty of Procurators in Glasgow, co-chair of the Creative Industry Skills Forum, and between 2002 - 2011 founded and exited four successful (creative industry) micro businesses. In particular, Philip looks forward to assisting with inquiries around business start-up, intellectual property, licensing and franchising, contracting, director compliance, dispute resolution, acquisitions and disposals.
