Ronnie Gurr

Music Industry

Ronnie has over 30 years’ experience in the music industry as a leading music promoter and journalist. He joined Virgin Records in 1981 where he orchestrated the launch of Culture Club. He was also involved with acts such as XTC, The Blue Nile and Public Image Ltd. After a spell as A&R Director of Sony Music’s Columbia label in the States, Ronnie moved to oversee the formation of the V2 record label, best known for the success of Stereophonics.

Ronnie has sat on the Scottish Arts Council’s Performing Arts Committee, The British Council’s Creative Industries Advisory Committee and Scottish Parliament’s Cross Party Group on Contemporary Music. He has also organised the showcases of Scottish acts at the South by South West (SXSW) music conference in Texas.

Tamara Schlesinger

Musician 

Tamara Schlesinger has been director of her own record label, Tantrum Records for over 15 years. She has released released 7 critically acclaimed albums all which have national radio play. Her music has been featured on various films and TV shows including; Scream 4, 127 Hours and Skins. Tamara has booked and played at many festivals over the years including Glastonbury and Bestival and has supported bands such as Belle and Sebastian and Deacon Blue. Tamara lectures in music business and creates all visuals for her projects - she has a wide knowledge of marketing, promotion and independent release strategies.

Jim Sutherland

Music Production 

Jim Sutherland is a composer and music producer. Working at a high level in a variety of musical genres  including a string of major commissions for film, TV and theatre, he has also produced more than 60 albums. He is known for his cross cultural projects and international collaborations. He specialises in the creation of bespoke ensembles, from small groups to full orchestras such as La Banda Europa and the True North Orchestra.

Jim has performed and recorded with such luminaries Plant and Page (Led Zeppelin), Billy Bragg, and The Chieftains. His influential folk tune compositions have been recorded on more than one hundred CDs by artists all over the world.
