Fiona is a Creative Business Consultant who has been involved with fashion and textiles for the last 20 years.
Previously Design into Business Manager for the Six Cities Design Festival, Fiona developed a programme of events and initiatives to promote the value of design to the business community across Scotland.
Fiona has owned her own design consultancy offering services to retailers and manufacturers in the clothing and interiors sector. This included: market trend, fashion forecasting, product development and supplier liaison with the Far East. During this time Fiona also lectured part time at Glasgow Caledonian University, in fashion, marketing and retailing.
Fiona has worked as a design manager with CHIPIE, and a knitwear designer for a major UK manufacturer in Nottinghamshire supplying Marks & Spencer. Fiona moved on to become Design Director of an independent fashion label which supplied fast fashion retailers including Topshop, Miss Selfridge and River Island.
Fiona has an MBA in Retailing from Stirling University, and has worked with Glasgow School of Art, focusing on work related learning and employability skills. She is currently involved in developing a platform to support design and designer makers within rural communities.
